1. Services provided by Savvysailor

Savvysailor acts as a service agent in the tourism industry and provides information on destinations, tours, river cruises, reservations, bookings, transportation, travel services and other related services.

Savvysailor does not provide or operate any land travel, air travel, sea or river travel or tours and simply acts as a booking agent for such travel and tours. In addition, we do not endorse or recommend any particular travel or tour operator.

2. Reliability of information on this website

Much of the information on our website has been secured from third party travel operators and service providers (e.g. APT, Scenic).

Although Savvy Sailor takes reasonable steps to maintain the information on this website, there may be mistakes or errors (for example in relation to itineraries, tour dates, tour inclusions or pricing information).

Savvysailor makes no representations and gives no warranties or guarantees (whether express or implied) that the content on this website (whether developed by us or a third-party travel operator) is:

  1. accurate, complete or up-to-date; or
  2. free from errors or omissions.

Users must also note that the content of this website is subject to change (sometimes on a daily basis) and therefore users should regularly check the website for such changes (particularly in relation to tour dates, pricing information and trip inclusions).

3. Pricing information

All prices, rates or fares provided on this website are subject to change at any time without notice. Special conditions may also apply to some prices on this website.

The prices provided are typically per person (unless specifically indicated otherwise) and may or may not include taxes, fees, or airport charges.

You should always carefully check pricing information to see what is and isn’t included in the listed price.

If you wish to make a booking, please contact us for up to date pricing information that is tailored to your specific needs and includes all relevant taxes, fees and charges.

4. Key booking terms and conditions

4.1 Invoice

Where you wish to make a booking, you will be issued with an invoice.

The invoice will set out trip details, pricing, deposit amounts and relevant payment dates.

In the event of an error, Savvysailor reserves the right to reissue the invoice with the correct information.

4.2 Deposit

When making a booking, you will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit. This deposit is held by the travel operator to secure your place.

All payments can be made by credit card (1.5% credit card fee applies) or direct debit.

4.3 Confirmation of booking

Your booking is not confirmed until Savvysailor receives your deposit and issues you with a confirmation booking advice.

4.4 Price increases

Different travel operators have different terms and conditions in relation to pricing.

Some operators reserve the right to increase prices in certain circumstances at any time before final payment is made.

You should check the relevant tour operators’ terms and conditions in this respect.

Once full payment has been made, there will be no changes to the price of your tour.

4.5 Progress and final payments

If you fail to make progress or final payments in accordance with the terms set out in your invoice, your booking may be cancelled. You are likely to incur cancellation fees and penalties if this happens (as per the travel operator’s terms and conditions)

Full payment must be made before we release tickets or travel documents to you.

4.6 Changes, cancellations & refunds

If you need to make a change to, or cancel, your booking please contact us by email as soon as possible.

Fees are often charged by the travel operator if you wish to make changes to or cancel your booking. In some cases, you may be charged up to 100% in the event that you need to change or cancel your booking.

Many travel operators do not provide refunds (other than in exceptional circumstances).

In addition, most travel operators reserve the right to change itineraries or cancel tours from time to time as may be necessary. In such situations, you are normally only entitled to be refunded what you have paid for the particular tour (and may not be entitled to compensation for the impact of such change or cancellation on your other travel arrangements).

It is important that you read and understand the individual travel operator’s terms and conditions in relation to these matters before you make your booking.

In addition to any charges imposed by your tour operator, in the event of cancellation you will also be charged an administration free of $100 payable to Savvysailor. This fee applies even if you have opted to purchase Gold Deal Protection, Safetynet Protection, APT or Scenic Cover.

4.7 Flights

If you are booking your own flights, please do not fix your travel dates until you have been notified by Savvysailor that your:

  1. place on the tour has been confirmed; and
  2. tour departure date has been set to a ‘definite departure’ by the relevant travel operator.

Please also note that if your flights are delayed for any reason, the airlines are not required by law to pay for any expenses you may incur, such as meals, hotels, taxis and phone calls.

Schedule changes are quite common today. We urge you to re-check exact flight times prior to departure and prior to your return.

4.8 Travel insurance

Savvysailor strongly recommends that you purchase travel insurance.

Travel insurance may assist you in recovering costs associated with travel delay, cancelation or disruption, as well as lost luggage, medical costs and other unexpected events or costs.

4.9 Acceptance of terms and conditions

By making a booking through our website you agree to accept the terms and conditions set out in this document, and the terms and conditions of the individual travel operator.

5. Errors in travel documents

Please ensure you carefully read your invoice, tickets and all other documents we send to you as soon as you receive them, and contact Savvysailor immediately if any information appears to be incorrect (eg. your name, date of birth etc).

Savvysailor will not accept any liability if you fail to notify us of any inaccuracy in any document within 7 days of us sending them to you.

Any costs associated with correcting errors after this time will be your responsibility (other than in circumstances where the error was made by the travel operator).

6. Passports, visas and vaccination certificates

You are responsible for obtaining and ensuring that all necessary travel documents including, but not limited to, passports, visas and vaccination certificates are valid. This information can be obtained from the department of immigration – http://www.border.gov.au/

As a general rule, passports must usually have an expiry date of at least six months after completion of your trip.

Savvysailor will not be liable in circumstances where you fail to obtain the necessary travel documentation or otherwise are denied entry to a particular country or access to a particular service for any reason.

7. Terms and conditions of third party travel operators

When you book travel, tours or other services through this website, you are booking with a third-party travel operator (e.g. APT, Scenic).

As such, in addition to agreeing to Savvysailor’s terms and conditions you also agree to the terms and conditions of the third-party travel operator for the relevant service you have booked.

8. No responsibility for third party content

This website may contain links to other websites.

Such links are provided for your convenience and are not intended as an endorsement by Savvysailor of the organisation, person, or entity that owns or operates those sites.

Savvysailor is not responsible for the content of third party websites, nor their tracking or privacy practices. These websites are maintained by third parties over whom we exercise no control.

In addition, Savvysailor expressly disclaims any responsibility for the content, products or services offered on third party websites.

9. Limitation of liability

Savvysailor is under no circumstances liable for any costs, loss or damage suffered or incurred by you as a result of:

  1. your use of this website;
  2. any error, omission or inaccuracy on this website;
  3. the actions or omissions of the applicable travel operator;
  4. changes to the applicable travel operator’s terms and conditions;
  5. cancellation or alteration by you or the travel operator of any tour or service;
  6. you undertaking or using the booked tour or service (including resultant injuries or property loss or damage);
  7. your dissatisfaction with the tour or service provided by the travel operator; or
  8. any other matter for which Savvysailor has no control over.

In the event that applicable laws do not permit us to exclude liability in relation to some or all of the above matters, our liability in all circumstances will be limited to the total amount paid by you for any booking made via this website.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Savvysailor in relation to any fees, charges or other costs that Savvysailor may incur as a result of your breach of these terms and conditions. This clause may be relevant for example where you cancel a booking and Savvysailor is required to make additional payments to the tour operator as a result of such cancellation.

11. Complaints Handling Policy & Procedure

As a responsible travel agency, we seek to maintain and enhance our reputation by providing you with high quality products and services.

Savvysailor values complaints as they assist us to improve our products, services and customer service.

Savvysailor is committed to being responsive to the needs and concerns of our customers (or potential customers) and to resolving complaints as quickly as possible.

Should the need arise, you can make a complaint to (or about) us by following the procedure set out in our Complaints Handling Policy

12. Amendment

Savvysailor reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time, without notice, at its discretion.

You should review the terms and conditions and other policies posted on this website for potential changes when you return to this site to visit or to transact any further business.
